44783 in store at Kipps shed 10/8/1964’
Submitted by A. Sainty
This photograph records the visit of the fund raising army tank “Julian” to Scotland in 1918. The engine has been identified as No. 671, an NBR Class C, 0-6-0, later LNER Class J36, but the location is unknown, although Duns has been suggested. However, 671 was for a long time allocated to Bathgate shed. The Scottish Records Office has provided some details of the itinery, but there are still details missing. What type of train was used to move it around? What is the location for the photograph ?
Any help would be of great assistance to the people submitting the photograph.
